Is a sim card an actual "card" or is it just a name for something electonic?

I'm trying to learn about cell phones and how they work before I change to another. My current plan (att on a samsung phone) is too expensive for me. I want to learn as much as I can before I change, possibly to a pay as you go. But need to learn more before I make any decisions. I think my contract is up but need to check that alsolIs a sim card an actual %26quot;card%26quot; or is it just a name for something electonic?

The SIM card is the tiny little postage-stamp sized thing that goes in the back of your phone, it contains your phone number and phone credit details.



SIM cards can usually be swapped between different makes of phones but you should check to make sure because there are some exceptions - although you can get your phone recoded to work on any network.Is a sim card an actual %26quot;card%26quot; or is it just a name for something electonic?
well i'm going to answer title, a sim card is a network card for a phone so yes it is a card and it can be removed very easily. and pay as you go is all based o how much you use a phone, if you barely use it get pay as you go but if you use it all the time get a plan, t-mobile is pretty cheap.
