Can you put a sim card in a new/different phone without changing your plan?

I have an LG Venus, and its all scratched up.. basically, I want a new phone. If I were to get a new LG phone online or something (ie not from the verizon store) that is similar or the same thing, do I have to take it to the verizon store to get service transferred to the new phone, or do I just replace the sim card? And how would I go about doing so?

i didnt know that verizon still did sim cards... mine dosent have one ( i got a chocolate) but if you are registered online at verizon whenever you get your phone you can go online and just put in your new esn number and then wait 5 minutes dial *228 i think i dunno it tells you online and you do that it activates. you dont need to go to the store to get it transfered... or you can always call customer service and they can do it for you :)

yes, you can, when you get the new phone open the back and the sim card insert thing is usually under the battery. open the old phone and do the same. take out the sim card and place it in the new phone it should work if it doesnt call customer service. its really easy tho, and it worked for me.Can you put a sim card in a new/different phone without changing your plan?
you can do this with at%26amp;t or tmobile if its unlocked, but u cant do this verizon. verizon doesnt use sim cards, so u cant switch phones with anybody. if u want a new lg venus, u hav to go to the store and ask for a new one.
