How do i switch my numbers from one cell phone to another?

i was on a family plan and then when the contract was up i got my own line in my own name, i can't just change the sim cards over to the new phone because that line is off but all my contacts are in the old phone, is there away to transfer them through bluetooth or am i gonna have to enter them manuallyHow do i switch my numbers from one cell phone to another?
well just becuz the service is off i think that you can still take the numbers off the phone just put the sim card in your new phone and go into the manual you got with the new phone and it should tell you how to do it or just add on info on here and give your phone model and i can help you out more =)How do i switch my numbers from one cell phone to another?
