Can you change the number of a simcard?

my simcard is on its last legs and not recognising any of the numbers when trying to send a text. Can i get a new sim card but some how change the number so its the same number as my current sim?

Yes, this is very possible. I had problems with a simcard on 3 UK network and was able to buy a simcarda from my local 3 shop, then transfer the original number to the new sim. There may be a charge for doing this (拢4.90 in my case) but if you call into your local Vodafone shop, I'm sure the staff there will happily guide you through the procedure involved. Are you sure it is the SIM card ?

If you do need a new SIM card, the Network/shop can replace it and keep the same number. Just go ring them up or visit them.. tell them that it is damaged/unreliable.



But not recognising what you type is not likely to be a SIM card fault.

Comming up with 'Faulty SIM' 'Replace SIM' is the sign of a bad SIM.Can you change the number of a simcard?
