How can i unlock a Nokia 6300 so i can use an O2 sim card?

My mum gave me her old virgin Nokia 6300 and my O2 sim card will not work in it. Apparently its a pretty tricky one to unlock.. something to do with the codes changing constantly? I don't want to change my phone number! Any ideas?How can i unlock a Nokia 6300 so i can use an O2 sim card?
