How can I replace my Motorola v60i cell phone which has no sim card?

I have Cingular free-2-go service (formerly ATT). I don't use the phone that often and have a lot of minutes accumulated, so I don't want to change service. I'd like to buy a newer reconditioned phone, but everything I've read seems to suggest that I'll need a sim card for the next phone. I know that sim cards can be bought online, but can they be programmed for a specific phone number for a specific phone company. I'd appreciate suggestions on how to upgrade my phone. How can I replace my Motorola v60i cell phone which has no sim card?
The old TDMA phones could be programmed with a number, and so can SIM cards for GSM phones. The best way to go about this is to purchase a SIM card from your service provider for your refurbished phone. They will set up the card with your service information for your %26quot;new%26quot; phone, and in doing so will disable your old phone. How can I replace my Motorola v60i cell phone which has no sim card?
