How can I save all the items that are on my phone and to my sim card?

All my texts and phone numbers are on my phone. The buttons on my phone don't work so im changing my phone but keeping my sim card. I have t mobile and the phone samsung blast if you needed to know. Please Help.How can I save all the items that are on my phone and to my sim card?
Some stores have phone cables to transfer numbers directly from your old phone to your new phone. That way you can just put your sim into your new phone and copy the numbers from the phone to sim card.
